I have found that changing my attitude affects my emotions, and my body changes accordingly. Sometimes I am motivated by nurture, sometimes by intensity. My motivational hybrid technique revolves around cycles of change. Yogalosophy can help you use the natural flow to recreate your body through intentions, emotions, and other motivational triggers.
“No expectation, no limitation. Unlimited energy is available to you right now.”

There's a saying: there are three versions of the truth: my truth, your truth and the truth. Many people who are attracted to yoga are natural born seekers, just like me. I have always been looking for ways to give meaning to my life. I am motivated equally by the excitement for life that lives within me and personal disappointments I've experienced along the way. We can give meaning to anything. It may be impossible to pinpoint truth, but creating a sacred space or altar that symbolically represents different aspects of ourselves can honor our many truths. I believe in having an altar that reminds me of the lover in me, the child, the mother, symbols of god and spirituality, power objects I have gathered from walks in nature, icons of deities and energies. It is equally important to honor the dark side with a symbol, to acknowledge it. And of course pictures of gurus or saints, or people who remind you of your unattainable, unutterable inner truth.
I remember that when I was a child, I wanted, desperately to make a connection with my father. One of the ways was through yoga. I wanted to be able to put my body into the positions that this man put his body into. Another way that I felt I could connect was by reading the books that he read to put my mind into the similar thought process that he went through. One of the best ways that I have ever emerged from depression, or got elevated out of trying times, was by reading inspirational books. If I read the words of enlightenment, I begin to have more purity of thought. Click here for a list of books that have inspired me on my spiritual journey.
I was one of those kids who actually liked school. I went to a school for experiential learning, where they taught us to be explorers and to break free from the limitations that can happen from being inside of four walls. So I have always seen teachers as mentors who are on the path, just like me, and are here to help inspire me to find my own way.
As a teacher, I consider myself the ultimate student. Go to Tips & Links for a list of some of my favorite teachers over the years. I am so excited to be able to share my DVD with all of you. I have been teaching for 14 years now, both groups and privately, and now I get to expand and reach more people. Click here to purchase my DVD: YOGALOSOPHY.

What you think about expands. Have you ever been told: wow, you look like you have lost weight. And you say "nah", and then, before you know it the pounds start to creep on. Or the flip-side of that coin, when you make a decision to really celebrate your body and appreciate yourself, and then suddenly your body begins to fall right into place. Where would you like to put your attention? My mind is very powerful, and staying positive can be a challenge. But by focusing on the positive, our lives become joyous, and the little irritations matter less. Do not take my word for it. Try each day this month to come up with a positive affirmation to live by, and watch what happens.
December usually brings a lot of celebration and expansion, but it can also mean an expansion of the waistline and a tendency to overindulge in pleasure. It's great to celebrate. In fact, I feel that with yoga and exercise: there's a party happening in your body! I feel so lucky to be able to be physical and move, yet I constantly take this for granted. So, definitely enjoy and celebrate, but remember also to celebrate the ability to move freely in your body and you will find much more presence. If you are truly present, one bite of chocolate will do the trick. Savor it and indulge!
November/December are often months when we travel. There is nothing like a journey to shift the perspective. One of my favorite types of journeys is the yoga retreat. I like to have a structure and a purpose while I relax. Please click here to place your name on a list for information on my upcoming yoga retreat in Spring/Summer in Cancun.
