Inhale. On the exhale, press your feet down to lift the hip bones up. Peel the spine off of the mat. If it is available to you, interlace the fingers underneath you. Wriggle up onto your shoulders, and open up that stubborn part of the ribcage. Feel the heart opening and breathe. Feel your breath filling your lungs and lifting your spirits. Keep breathing into it and stay present. After 10 breaths lower it down, one vertebrae at a time. Counter the pose by hugging knees to chest. Repeat 3 times. All backbends will energize you…just like a cup of coffee! :)
