POSE OF THE DAY: Triangle Pose (Trikonasana)—Stand with feet 3-5 feet apart. Turn front (right) foot to the right. Angle back (left) foot slightly in to the right with front heel along a line that intersects back arch. Extend arms out to sides at shoulder level, palms face down. Shove your hips back and reach forward to the right. Elongate the side body. Then bring your right hand down to your shin as you reach your left arm up. Firm and activate your legs. Keep your head, shoulders, hips and feet aligned. Rise up by pressing your back heel into the floor. —Hold for 30 seconds or 5 breaths on each side.—Benefits of the pose : strengthens and stretches thighs knees and ankles. It stretches the groin, hamstrings, calves, shoulders, chest. Activates abdominals. Helps with stress and stimulates digestion. —This is a basic and simple standing pose, that will help the student to get in touch with lines of energy.
